UNLESS YOU REPENT

DAILY GRACE WEDS.28TH DEC, 2016 TOPIC: UNLESS YOU REPENT TEXT: LUKE 13:5 Today will be fruitful and fulfilling for you in Jesus' name. "I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish." The above scripture is a timely word from the Lord Jesus Christ to all and sundry as we are preparing gradually for the fresh and prosperous year ahead. The King of kings said emphatically, "no indeed"! Except you turn from your sins, self, and worldliness; you will die in those works of the flesh. To perish in the verse above does not mean instant physical death, but spiritual death. The soul that sins shall surely die (Ezek.18:20). All sins result in the same consequences and separates a man from the life of God, causes spiritual death (Rm.3:23, 6:23). Unless a man repents of sin, self and friendship with the world, such a man will perish from the presence of God. It is very important to repent from all those habits, attitudes and characters that hinder you from serving the Lord genuinely in this outgoing year. God has a wonderful promises for you to step into and access in the coming year, but those unfruitful works of darkness in your life may prevent you from accessing it and fulfilling your destiny. You must be desperate and passionate to change your thinking, ungodly character and behaviour in order to surrender and submit to the will of God. Another things you must repent from is your tradition and religion. Tradition and religion do not have capacity to save anyone but to put you more in bondage. God of all grace will not like to see you entering the year with bondage of religion and tradition. Thus, repent today not tomorrow and receive fresh grace to serve the Lord faithfully.
