FRUIT FOR HIMSELF

DAILY GRACE FRI.13TH JAN, 2017 FRUIT FOR HIMSELF HOSEA 10:1 Thank God its another beautiful and glorious Friday. "Israel was a spreading vine, he brought forth fruit for himself. As his fruit increased, he built more altars; as his land prospered, he adorned his sacred stones." Beloved, our God is a jealous God who dislike any attempt to give the glory, honour and awe that is due Him to worthless idols. Israel; the people of God grew mightily and spread all over. God even caused their land to prosper and they bore fruits all over but the fruits were only for themself; rather than unto God Almighty. They truly abounded, lsrael took root downward and spread as a fruitful vine. Her land prospered but its a pity that as lsrael increased and became highly fruitful they turned against their Creator in the following ways; a.) They bore those fruits unto themselves, rather than unto God who has chosen them as His own special people. b.) Built altars for idols rather than unto the Almighty God. You shall serve no other God besides me was what God commanded Israelites including me and you (Exo. 20:1-3). c.) They adorned sacred stones (idols). That put their interest in beautifying an inanimate thing. You might not have a physical stone that you adorn physically but you need to check your heart to see where you have replaced God of all grace with others in your life, affairs, home, health, finance and all areas of your life. All of these they did even as they increased in fruits and prosperity. Those are mistakes that you must decide also not to repeat as the Israel of today. To genuinely avoid these similar errors, consider the followings: 1.) You must decide solidly in your heart today, that as God of all grace prospers you this year, you will bear fruits 🍉 unto Him and not to yourself. You must ensure that your desire is to raise the banner of holiness, righteousness, worship and honour to God of all grace and not to yourself or anybody or idol. 2.) In this year and beyond, you must let your affection be toward God, His kingdom and purpose (Col. 3:1-3). May God help you to stay deeply rooted in Him and never to forget and forsake your Blesser, Helper and Creator. For He is the one that gives you power to get wealth (Deut. 8:18).
