REND YOUR HEART

DAILY GRACE SAT.14TH JAN, 2017 REND YOUR HEART JOEL 2:13 Beloved, God will strengthen your heart and cause you to grow in His knowledge. "Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity." God is slow to anger, compassionate, gracious and full of mercy. Yet the love in His heart has made Him show us His mercy. This mercy is long enduring and this is why He says that we should rend our hearts and not our garments. Friend, Just like Jesus said that it is not what a man takes in that defiles him but what comes out of his heart. The call to rend our hearts is to; a.) Expose the content of our hearts to God. Pouring out your heart to Him and making it plain before Him. b.) Let the light of Jesus shine into the darkest part of your heart. Light of His word is strong enough to dispel every traces of darkness. c.) Expunge the evil passions and desires of your heart to the feet of Jesus Christ. d.) Tell God of all grace to use the blood of His Son to wash those evil passions and desires away. e.) Transparent appearance: endeavour to appear in the presence of God with total sincerity of heart. Do not hide from God, allow Him to come to your aid. f.) Ask God for help to feed your heart with the right food (His Word) so as to be nurtured with it and grow thereby. g.) Return totally to your Creator and surrender all unto Him without reservation. Enjoy your day!
