DAILY GRACE MON. 9TH JULY, 2018. LAYING ASIDE ALL 1 PETERS 2:1 "Therefore, laying aside all malice, all guile, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking" Every serious follower of Christ Jesus must heed the advice to put off or thrown aside the sins that can destroy charity and efficacy of the word of grace; a.) Malice: This is anger resting in the bosom of fools, settled and retained till it inflames a man to do mischief. b.) All Guile: This can be in word, flattery,falsehood and deadly delusion. c.) Hypocrisies: The hypocrisy was the lifestyle of the Pharisees in their days and Jesus condemned such act. He even warned His disciples, including you to desist from all forms of hypocrisy, either religious hypocrisy or civil hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is simply to appear to be what you are not in the presence of people so as to receive their praise. d.) All Envies: This is grieving at the good and welfare of another. e.) Evil Speaking: This is simply a detraction and defamation of another fellow i.e backbiting. This is a sign that all the negative habits mention above lie in the heart. Beloved, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees. These attributes are not Christian characteristics. You need to pray to God of all grace to deliver you from such spots, wrinkle and blemish that wants to daint your spiritual garment. Give God a chance today and let Him do a thorough and deep work of grace on your heart, so that the blood of His Son cleanse them away and deliver you from them. Enjoy your day!!!
