DAILY GRACE WEDS.11TH JULY, 2018. BITTERNESS OF SOUL 1 SAMUEL 1: 10 "And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore." The Lord is faithful and ever present help in times of afflictions. Being in bitterness of soul, Hannah prayed unto the Lord in fervent spirit. Your afflictions should make you more desperate and lively in your confession to the God of all grace. Taking after the Saviour Himself, being in a state of agony, prayed more earnestly (Luke 22:44). Hannah mingled tears with her prayers. It was not a dry prayer: she wept sore to make supplication like a true Israelite (Hos. 12:4), with an eye to the tender mercy of God of all grace, who knows the troubled soul. The prayer came from her heart, as the tears from her eyes too. She was very particular and yet very modest, in her petition. God of all grace often gives blank cheque in prayer, not only to ask good things in general, but to mention that special good thing which you most need and desire. Also, she made a solemn vow, or promise, that if God would give her a son, she would give him up to God of all grace. Friend, no matter how lasting your situation may be, don't deploy the bitterness of your soul to be making complaints or doing meaningless cry but engage it profitably prayers before the Lord. And your complete testimonies shall manifest suddenly in Jesus' name. Enjoy your day!!!
