GROW IN GRACE

DAILY GRACE MON. 4TH SEPT. 2017 GROW IN GRACE 1 PETER 3: 18 "But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen." The believers in Christ must grow in grace daily in order to avoid being led away or drift into error. Right from the beginning of the epistle, we are urged to add one grace to another, and here he advises us to grow in grace, in faith, virtue, and knowledge. Let's consider the following truth: 1.) By how much stronger grace that is in you, by so much the more steadfast shall you be in the truth. 2.) You must grow in the knowledge of Lord Jesus Christ. Follow on to know the Lord intimately, and also labour to know Him more clearly and more fully. To know more of Christ Jesus and to know Him to better purpose, so as to be more like Him and to love him better. 3.) This is the knowledge of Christ Jesus that apostle Paul preached and desired to attain in Phil. 3:10. Such a knowledge of Christ conforms you more to Him, and endears Him more to you. This must be of great use to you, to preserve you from falling off in times of general apostasy and those who experience this effect of the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ will, upon receiving such grace from Him, give thanks and praise to Him, and join with others in saying to Him glory both now and for ever.
