TOPIC: OH MAN OF GOD
TEXT: 1TIM. 6:11

  May the Lord bless you from Zion and cause His face to shine upon you in the name of Jesus.
" But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness".
Many who claim to be men of God, who are to be an example to others in conducts, character, conversations, lifestyle and way of life are actually doing the reverse. They love mammon (god of money) rather than God.
 This is because they are expected to flee some stupid things and pursue after the noble course in life, there are;

 1. Godliness (being like God in all things) Eph. 5;1, Phil, 3:10.              
2.Righteousness - living and doing right. The scripture says but he that knows to do good but fails to do it, to Him it is a sin. To be just and to align with God (James.4:17).                             
 3. Faith- he is to walk and live by faith for it is in doing this that he can please the Lord (Hab. 2:4, Heb. 11:6).
 4. Love- God is love and love gives . Love is not just in words alone but in action (1 John 4:7-8,10). Love of God more than love of mammon.
5. Endurance- God Himself is enduring in mercy and His faithfulness is really great. You are to endure hardship, hard times, trials and tribulations just like Jesus and the Apostles of old did (2 Tim. 4:5). To persevere and be patient is be all situations.
6. Gentleness- this has to do with the spirit of a man. A gentle and a quiet spirit is such that God can not despise (Ps. 51:17).
  
   Beloved, you will notice that all these are actually fruit of the spirit (Gal. 5:22-23). So it is good and ultimate that you  possess these and then covet for the greater spiritual gifts which is love (1 Cor. 12:31; 13).
When love is in you then others highlighted above will grow in you with time.  Dear man/child of God, do seek after the fruit of the spirit for  it is expected of you to possess them.God bless you.
