TOPIC: SINS OF OUR ANCESTORS 
TEXT: JER. 11:10

 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceaseth, His mercies never come to an end, surely they are always new towards us-His children.
Are you really a child of God? Being a child of God gives you the bonafide right of sonship through faith in Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:15-16). If indeed we share in Christ's suffering it is also for us to share in His glory (Rom. 8:17).
But, it's pathetic that if we do not seek knowledge and pray very well to deliver ourselves  from the sins of our ancestors, we may not be able to share in Christ glory (both earthly and eternal glory) (Hosea 4:6).
God is highly merciful, He is able to cleanse us from our sins and all our rebellion and that of our ancestors (Jer. 33:8).                          What are the sins of our ancestors? These sins are so enormous but God says, no matter how enormous they are, the blood of Jesus will cleanse us away (Ish. 1:18-19). Out of the enormousity of their sins are; killings of innocent souls, rebellion, conspiracy, open disobedience to God, idolatry, etc.
 The major one today is that of idolatry. God hates this sin so much to the extent that He says, "l am a jealous God" (Exo. 20:2,23).
       A lot of Christians do not have any graven image in the corner of their house which they bow down to, though  some do. Yet, they are all still guilty of this sin of idolatry.                                Our fathers have eaten sore grapes and our teeth are set on edge (Jer 31:29).
Truly, it was the fathers that sinned but God says He will visit the sins of fathers on their children till the fourth generation (Exo. 20:5).
 Thank God for His mercies. For He also is the One that shows love to a thousand generations (more than the fourth generation) of those who love him and keep his commandments (which you are part of through the blood of Jesus). Rom. 9:15, Exo. 20:6.
It is the great power in the blood of Jesus that makes us free when we reconcile with God, otherwise the whole human race will become lost forever (Heb. 12:24).  The Almighty God is angry with idolatry and their worshippers because they have sought another god after Him.
 Every regenerated child of God needs to confess these sins of our fore-fathers, in order for us to obtain mercy. Remember, that poverty is meant for the sinner and any sinner that covers his sins (your own sins and that of your fathers), shall not prosper. The sins of your fore-fathers concern you because you hail from them and your both parents came from four different parents who also had their own parents. The trend goes down the lane like that till Adam, the first sinner.                                             Friend, you and I need to run back to calvary and plead the blood of Jesus against those speaking blood shed by our fore fathers. 
Glory be to God for the atonement He made for us through the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. The key is the *blood of Jesus*.
God will help you to fight this spiritual battle with the blood of Jesus in the place of prayer.
