DAILY GRACE
SAT. 3RD SEPT. 2016
TOPIC: GOLDEN LESSONS
TEXT: ISAIAH. 51:2
Glad to know that you are still among the living souls witnessing the first Saturday in this month. God wants us to pick up some golden lessons from the lives of Abraham and Sarah. They are our forefather and mother respectively.
God called Abram when he was still in his father's house. He was called out of his own people because God had a different purpose for his life and especially because God wanted to start up a new people or nation that He can call His own very people. So God made a covenant with him and everyone in his descendants who is also circumcised (Abrahamic covenant). God needed to do some restructuring in his life and also in his wife's life so that they will possess the make-up needed for His promises to manifest.
Let's consider the followings;
1. Abraham and every male under his roof was to be circumcised.
2. God had to change his name from Abram to Abraham (a father of many nations or fruitfulness) Gen. 17:6. 3. He also change Sarai's name to Sarah (mother of many nations), in order for her to be a suitable support/help in their marital destiny (Gen. 17:16). Name is important to God especially in the fulfilment of your eternal and earthly destiny. If God wants you to change your name because of the peculiarity of your destiny, you need to do so in order to fulfil your God's given purpose in life.
4. He was also separated from his own country people and his father's household (Gen. 12:1). He won't be able to fulfil his destiny if he was with his kindred. There are some people and sometimes your family members that God will have to separate you from in order for you to fulfil your destiny.
5. Abraham was not selfish but remembered others in his prayers. Indeed, he was a great intercessor (Gen. 18:16-33).
6. He was an humble and obedient man. He Humbled himself to every of God's instructions given to him and he did obeyed them all (Gen.17:3).
7. He had perseverance and endured hardship as a true soldier of Christ even in the midst of his years of waiting upon God for manifestation of all that God had promised him even in his old age. As a soldier of Christ, will you endure hardship and wait for God's word to manifest in your life instead of worrying and looking for another source of help (Gen. 17: 15-17, 24; 21:1-7).
Beloved, wait upon God for the manifestation of all of His good promises in your life. Take golden lessons from the life of Abraham and Sarah. Sarah humbled herself to her husband and called him lord (2 Pet. 3:6-7). She adorned herself with a quiet spirit and also was humble to her husband. Enjoy your day!
Personal Confession: Lord Jesus, help me to be a true soldier of you so as to fulfil my earthly and eternal destiny in Jesus' name.
Read, Reflect and rebroadcast to bless someone. God will bless you in return.
