TOPIC: ISRAEL, GOD'S PEOPLE
TEXT: JEREMIAH 2:13

Beloved, in this new week, the Lord will cause His awesome favour to manifest and speak on your behalf in your every area of your life and in your destiny in the name of Jesus. 
                      
 Today's text says, "My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water."                                     
  The state of the nation Nigeria and even the world at large is fulfillment of the end time prophecies. This is a time where you do not need to take decisions on your own or simply based on your human instinct. You need to trust in God solely to lead, direct and instruct you at this point in time. It is simply by doing so that you will prosper (Psa.  32:8, Dan. 11:32b).       
 Israel is the people of God. They are His covenanted people. It was with Isaac, the father of Jacob whom God encountered and changed his name to Israel. God did this because He actually intended to make a nation from him.

   In fact, through the mighty hand of God, He delivered His people from the hands of their tormentors due to His great mercy and the covenant He already had with Abraham, His friend. But a time came that Israel forgot and exchanged their Supreme God that brought them out of the land of slavery for lesser gods. They took for themselves, strange gods (who are not gods at all) Jer. 2:11.
God says to them that they have forsaken Him (their true God and the spring of living water). They have also dug their own cisterns and these are even broken cisterns that can not hold water at all.  

 Beloved, look inwardly and deeply of those areas of your life, where you have deserted God. And as if that is not enough, you have also made lesser/foreign god for yourself. God is not happy with this at all. For He is a jealous God, hence He is calling you to come back to Him now, for your sins to be cleansed, forgiven and no longer remembered (Ish. 1:18-19 Jer. 2:22).   Return back in full repentance to your Creator, for He will abundantly pardon (1 John 1:8-9).       Enjoy your day!

Personal Confession: Father Lord, l return to you today in genuine repentance of heart, have mercy upon me and make me whole in Jesus' name.
