DREAD HIM

TOPIC: DREAD HIM
TEXT: ISAIAH. 57:11

The Lord will bless you from Zion and cause His face to  shine upon you. God is calling your attention to something important to His heart and He wants you to turn a new leave to Him.                        
   Look at what the text says; "Whom have you so dreaded and feared that you have not been true to me, and have neither remembered me nor taken this to heart? Is it not because l have long been silent that you do not fear me?"
                                
   Beloved, whatever you think your excuse is, God is asking you  a pertinent question. He says to you, why do you not fear or dread Him? Could it be that you have being so complacent with Him, or you feel, you know Him too well, or rather that He is such a merciful God (which He is truly) that you do not need to fear Him. Whatever your reason or excuse is, God demands that you reference Him. Hebrews 12:29 says, "for our God is a consuming fire".
As true as it is that He is a merciful God, He is also a consuming fire. So beware! Tell me why you think you should not fear a consuming fire. None! Hence, God says for not being afraid of Him but afraid of other little creatures or idols. He will expose your righteousness and your works and they will not benefit you (Vs. 12). He also added that when you cry for help, He won't answer you rather, you should call on your idol whom you dreaded so much.
May God not desert you in Jesus' name. God also says that the wind will blow away your idols whom you trusted in and feared. But that whoever takes refuge in Him will inherit the land and possess His holy mountain (vs  13). Those who takes refuge in Him actually trust Him. As heirs in His kingdom, we are admonished to be thankful and worship God acceptably with reference and awe (Heb. 12:28). That's what the Father seeks.  You can't afford not to fear or dread Him. This fear is not danger based but that of reference and awe to Him. If you fear Him, you have the reward of inheriting the land that God has placed you and finally possess His holy mountain. May God grants you understanding.
