THE SPIRIT OF THE FEAR OF THE LORD

DAILY GRACE SUN. 28TH JAN, 2018 THE SPIRIT OF THE FEAR OF THE LORD ISAIAH 11:2 "And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him- The Spirit of the fear of the Lord........." Basically, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The fear of the Lord is to hate evil and love His counsel; it is to keep God's commandment via reverent affection for the Lord.This is not the fear of whether God is wicked, or the fear that God will kill or destroy you. Rather, it is a godly and holy fear that comes from the love of Christ in our heart. It is the fear of awe, reference and honour, glamour and glory to God. It is not fear of destruction or evil of any kind. For the Spirit of God is the Spirit of love and liberty! The Holy Spirit puts this holy fear into the believers' heart for the God of all grace. This is what makes a believer to dread God, love Him, worship, adore and give absolute reference to Him. It is this fear that keeps a believer to always act right and not to live a sinful lifestyle--fear of the love of God. It was this Spirit of the fear of the Lord that was operational in the life of Joseph, Daniel, Shedrach, Meshach, Abednego, and Esther etc. even in a strange land where no one was watching them. They stood for the Lord exceptionally because of their holy fear of God of all grace. May the Lord baptise you with the fear to stand for Him and keep His words in Jesus' name. Enjoy your day!!!
