DAILY GRACE

TOPIC: HIS TEMPLE
TEXT: 1 COR. 6:19 
                         
Thank God its friday the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in Him.
Rejoice because it's last friday of unending favour for you and your family in Jesus' name.
  Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? (1Cor.6: 19).                   
You may think your body is yours but according to the text of today, it shows to us clearly that your body is not your own personal property but the Lords.         
     Kindly look at the last statement, "you are not your own". This simply tells us that since our bodies do not belong to us but to God, then it is expected of us to use the body in honour of the owner and also glorify God with it.

  A temple is a place of worship. Your body is the habitation of God, It is a place you treasure and where you pay homage to God. It is a holy place and a place of honour and high dignity.  Hence, God decides to house himself in your human body so you can carry Him around, so as to influence your world for Him.
 This is contrary to the old testament days where He only descends upon people and leaves after He has wrought signs and wonders through them (e.g Samson, Elijah).    
But, in this dispensation of grace, God of all grace decides to dwell in  your body, via the Holy Spirit which you received when you gave your life to Christ. Hitherto, God expects that you treat His temple of abode (your body) with great dignity, honour, respect, cleanliness and holiness.
You are no longer your own but God's, hence you must honour the Lord with your body since He lives in you (Gal. 2:20).

You were actually bought with precious price- the blood of His Son Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 6:20).
You can honour the Lord in your body in the following ways;
1. You must live your new life by faith. For without faith it is impossible to please God and the just shall live ONLY by his faith (Heb. 11:6, Hab. 2:4b).
                       
2. Worship and glorify the Lord in your body. Let all that you will allow your body to be involved in glorify God. This includes all your body parts e.g your head, mouth, eyes, hands, legs, ears, sexual parts, etc).
They must bring glory to God and not otherwise.
